A note from Ms. Lily..
Hello! I am Ms. Lily, a young female creative & educator, who has had a long
standing passion for children of all ages. I have privately taught children from
ages 3-18 for the last 10 years, tutoring privately ages 5-18 and teaching at Island Academy International. It has been a dream of mine to open a center that will change the general outlook on learning most commonly seen here in Antigua, starting from the foundations and eventually spanning out into the secondary/tertiary levels. Children are unique both in their personalities and developmental journies; they can teach adults so much in their own ways. It is my firm belief that with positive guidance, and additional love, all children can achieve their unique goals. Since having my young daughter Rosie, in December 2019, I was motivated more than ever to begin this dream. The Hive from Beehive Learning is a place made with love, care and commitment and I am very excited to share, along with my wonderful staff, those factors with our prospective and current Beehive families.
Our Story
After years of dreaming, working with children of all ages and teaching, and with the support of her partner, family and friends, Ms. Lily took the leap and decided it was time to pour her love and talents into her own learning center. Months of searching lead Ms. Lily to finding the perfect location, now known as The Hive!
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic also found it's way at the same time and halted all plans for a significant period of time. This setback however, allowed for additional time for planning and preparations. Set to open in October 2021, Ms. Lily & her daughter suffered a heartbreaking, unexpected sudden death in her partner, Arthur. Again, the Hive's doors remained closed for the next few months, allowing the duo some time to process the immediate grief.
After a tough 2 years of unexpected hurdles, the Hive finally opened its doors in February 2022. On opening we had a total of 6 students across daycare & preschool. We grew as the weeks passed and by September 2022, we had full enrollment across our center.
